Outcomes and Results

We strive to evaluate our programs against specific, objective parameters to ensure we are meeting our mission and serving as responsible stewards of our community’s resources and trust.

Each year, we report on how many youth were reunited with their families, secured and retained stable housing, advanced in education or career training, landed and kept a job, became competent in daily living skills, and managed their physical and mental health.

TLP intensively serves 350 young people a year through a continuum of services that includes three residential programs, an after-care program, and wrap around supportive services including employment, educational and recreational support; independent life skills training; mental and primary health care; nutrition and culinary support. In addition, TLP provides crisis intervention and referrals to 1,400 youth each year via our 24-hour hotline, and makes thousands contacts through our street and community outreach program.

Our youth’s outcomes (averaged from the last eight years) demonstrate our dedication to helping youth achieve independence:

  • 86% of youth were reunited with their families or placed in other safe and stable housing (minor-aged youth)
  • 59% secured and maintained stable housing for at least 6 months after leaving TLP
  • 74% demonstrated standard competencies for living independently
  • 67% secured employment
  • 62% completed or were enrolled in a formal education/career training program
  • 59% knew how to manage their physical and mental health through health professionals
